Comfort the Lost

Loved the tee shirt my friend Jean wore today.
"To comfort a stressed out writer, whisper, "There, their, they're."

While that's a fun observation, what we could lose by not being aware, will require more comfort than we can possibly imagine. Read Length of Days - The Age of Silence to see where we could end up if we don't wake up.

Spring Reading Suggestions

Celebrate books now that the sun is out, the sky is blue and the robin has started singing her song. Find something lighter to read. My Y/A (and all ages novel), Escape from the Belfry, may be just the thing you're looking for.
Another great break from the doldrums of winter is Mary Coons' wonderful book, The Piglys and the Hundred-Year Mystery. It is full of Mary's amazing pigly drawings, all wrapped around a fascinating story - ISBN: 978-1-4808-0139-4 in soft cover, available at Archway Publishing and other places on line, and can be ordered from any bookstore. Yes, another wonderful Indi author penning her magic to paper. Happy reading!

Indi Books Are a Good Thing

Just read a great article in Forbes, 8/15/12 online - Publishing Is Broken, We're Drowning In Indie Books - And That's A Good Thing by David Vinjamuri. He is so right. Highly paid, highly successful authors say, "A self-published author is not REALLY published."
I heard a very well known Christian author make that exact statement. The truth of the matter is, you could write a book equal to Gone With The Wind, but if a publisher is not looking for a book about the Civil War, it will not get published.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with believing in yourself. That is a reflection of wholeness, of solid mental health - not a sign of arrogance. Self-publishing is another way of expressing yourself. Have fun - create a book!
