Once Again Believe

Christmas was born in the hearts of those who love, thousands of years ago. Yet, the story continues to be told to this very day. There are those who want to silence the words of Jesus and wipe out the season of Christmas. In my book, Length of Days - The Age of Silence, this holiday has been reduced to a celebration of "things." It is called Gifting Day.

Is tomorrow Gifting Day in your home, or the birthday of the Son of God? It all comes down to: What do you believe? Is He present in your life?

Find ways to speak the name of Jesus with the gifts you give tomorrow. We sent Stuffies to granddaughters in Ohio two years ago, so this year we caught up to the four granddaughters here in Indiana. Along with their various animals, we purchased the zippered heart for each of them as well. Last Sunday, when we celebrated our family Christmas, we gave each of the little girls a baby in the manger figurine, to place inside the heart and stuff it deep inside their animal. "We put the baby Jesus in our heart at Christmas time," I told each of them.

Who or what is in your heart this Christmas? What teachings and traditions are you passing on to your family? Speak the name of Jesus and read the old, old story to those you love. For when the blight of winter comes, as it comes to everyone at some point in their life, they will have the warm, blessed image of the day they placed Jesus in the heart of Christmas, and they will feel Christmas love and hope again.

May your ears hear songs that put Christ in your heart this Christmas Eve; your eyes see glorious wonders of light and hope; and may you feel the brush of angel wings and once again, believe!
